18 and Under New Admit Housing Checklist

  • Living on-campus is one of the best ways for new freshmen to build friendships and get acquainted with the life of a college student. We encourage new freshman admits, 18 and Under as of January 1, 2020, to read through all of the information provided on this page as well as on the webpages that are linked. (New freshman admits, 19 and Over as of January 1, 2020, should read through "Contracting Information".)
  • Information will be updated on this webpage until the end of contracting. Students should come back to this page frequently for updated information.

Housing Areas and Virtual Tours

  • Students should become familiar with the housing areas available for contracting and take virtual tours.

Helaman Halls

  • Dorm-style living
  • A full meal plan is required.
  • On-site parking is available.
  • Parking on neighboring residential streets causes congestion and inconvenience and is discouraged.

Heritage Halls

  • Apartment-style living
  • Prospective tenants should be aware that there is no on-site parking available at Heritage Halls. Students who believe they must have a vehicle at school may want to consider living at Helaman Halls, where on-site parking is available. If Heritage Halls is still your favorite option, off-site parking is provided at designated lots; although these lots are on campus, they are not in the immediate vicinity of Heritage Halls. Please view the Heritage Halls Parking Map with the alternate parking identified. Heritage Halls tenants do not need to pay to park in the designated off-site parking.
  • Parking on neighboring residential streets causes congestion and inconvenience and is discouraged.

Foreign Language Student Residence

  • Applications are required.
  • On-site parking is available.
  • Parking on neighboring residential streets causes congestion and inconvenience and is discouraged.

Meal Plans

Preferred Roommate Requests

  • Students may submit preferred roommate requests for Fall-Winter 2020-21 from March 4-March 8, 2020.
    • Students should pay special attention to the “Select a Preferred Roommate” instructions.
    • Preferred roommate requests will not be accepted after these dates.
    • Roommate preferences must be mutual to be honored.
    • Should either preferred roommate request to terminate their housing agreement or ask for the preferred roommate link to be removed, one or both roommates will be at risk of their housing agreement being canceled by Campus Accommodations.
    • Preferred roommate requests are not available for Spring or Summer Terms. If your preferred roommate is able to place a bedspace on hold for you for Fall-Winter 2020-21, it will not change your contracting date and time for Spring or Summer Terms.

Read Contracting Date and Time Message

  • Students will receive a message on their message board located under the “Account” tab indicating their contracting date and time for Spring, Summer, and Fall-Winter after 5:00 PM on March 11, 2020.
    • Students are encouraged to read through the 18 and Under "Contracting Information” in preparation for their contracting date and time. This information will explain the bedspace selection process in detail.

Contracting

  • Contracting dates for Spring, Summer, and Fall-Winter in 2020 will be March 23, 2020 through April 3, 2020.
    • Assigned contracting dates and times are based on when completed admission applications were submitted to the university.
    • The admission application timestamp will not be modified.
    • A contracting date and time does not obligate students to choose a bedspace in On-Campus Housing, nor is it a guarantee of space availability on their particular contracting date.
    • A $100 deposit and a $50 processing fee are due upon completion of the agreement.

Waiting List

  • The waiting lists for Spring, Summer, and Fall-Winter will open at 3:00 PM on April 7, 2020.
    • Students who were not able to obtain their desired housing area on their contracting date and time may add their names to the waiting list.
    • Students do not need to add their names to the waiting list right at 3:00 PM as their positions on the waiting list will be based on the date they submitted their completed admission applications.
