Parking

Parking

  • On-campus tenants are limited to one car per tenant.
  • Heritage Halls has a limited number of on-site parking spaces. Most Heritage Halls parking spaces are off-site as described below.
  • On-campus tenants in Helaman Halls, Riviera, and Heritage Halls for fall and winter semesters, who bring a vehicle to campus, will be charged $25 per month (September, October, November, December, January, February, March, and April) for parking.
  • For fall and winter semesters a shuttle service will be provided that will run from Lot 45 B, C, and D (West of Lavell Edwards Stadium) through the west lot of Helaman Halls (by both Helaman Halls and Riviera) to the Museum of Art next to Heritage Halls. During fall and winter semesters the shuttle service will run every day of the week from 5 pm until midnight.
  • On-campus tenants in Helaman Halls, Riviera, and Heritage Halls for spring and summer terms will not be charged for parking. A shuttle will not be provided spring and summer terms. There will be parking available spring and summer terms close to Helaman Halls, Riviera, and Heritage Halls.
  • Tenants parking in Lot 45B, C, and D need to move their vehicle for events held at Lavell Edwards Stadium. See "Events held at Lavell Edwards Stadium" below for dates of events and instructions on moving your vehicle.
  • On-campus tenants should obtain BYU parking registration and park in appropriate university parking lots. Here is a link with further instructions regarding BYU Parking.
  • Parking on neighboring residential streets causes congestion and inconvenience and is discouraged. Vehicles parked on Provo City streets may be ticketed. Click here for Provo City parking permit program guidelines.
  • Motorcycles should be parked in designated motorcycle parking.

Heritage Halls:

On-site parking

  • Around the Heritage Halls residence halls, there are a total of 90 B parking stalls.
  • An additional 25 stalls are reserved for ADA parking.
  • Along 9th East, there are fifteen timed parking stalls that are either 30 or 60 minutes.

Off-site parking

  • Lot 52B (near the Student Health Center and Wymount Terrace) is designated for Heritage Halls residents. There are a total of 366 B parking stalls available. This lot is approximately a 5-8 minute walk to Heritage Halls.
  • Lot 45B, C, and D (west of Lavell Edwards Stadium) has 650+ off-site parking stalls. The walk from Lot 45B, C, and D to Heritage Halls is approximately 20 minutes (staying on lighted sidewalks). For fall and winter semesters a shuttle service is provided from lot 45B, C, and D to the Museum of Art (next to Heritage Halls) from 5 pm to midnight each day. Tenants parking in Lot 45B, C, and D need to move their vehicle for events held at Lavell Edwards Stadium. Safety

  • Students who are concerned about walking alone may utilize the Safe Walk app which allows users to send their movements to BYU Police and quickly call Police Dispatch for emergency assistance.
  • Students may also call BYU Police directly for an in-person escort to their desired location.

Events held at Lavell Edwards Stadium

  • Vehicles need to be moved by 10 pm the night prior to the event or maintenance work. If vehicles are required to be moved earlier than 10 pm the night prior to the event, you will be notified through your housing account message board.
  • Vehicles can be moved to parking Lot 46Y, Lot 46A, or Lot 53. These lots are located by BYU West Campus at University Avenue and Cougar Blvd.
  • Vehicles must be returned to Heritage Halls authorized parking areas by 10:00 a.m. the morning after the game, event, or maintenance work. A message will be sent through the housing account message board for these games as well as any other events or maintenance which requires residents to move their vehicles.
  • If students fail to move their vehicles by 10 pm the night prior to an event or maintenance work a $200 ‘failure to comply’ citation will be issued. Also, the student will pay for any associated towing or moving fees the university has to incur to move the vehicle. Below is the fall 2022 schedule where moving your vehicle applies. This does not account for lot repaving or maintenance.

Public Transportation

There is public transportation available for all tenants at no charge. BYU’s ID cards double as Utah Transit Authority (UTA) passes. UTA services include: Utah Valley Express (UVX) bus, other local and express buses, and a rail network that includes FrontRunner, TRAX, and S-Line. Along the UVX route includes shopping areas such as downtown Provo shopping, Smith’s grocery store, Walmart Neighborhood Market, Walmart (located in Orem), University Mall (located in Orem), and many other restaurants and shopping areas along the route.
