Request a Waiver - Instructions

All of the following steps must be completed before your waiver will be processed:

Click on the Request a Waiver link on the Off-Campus Housing Homepage under the Students tab
Log in using your Net ID and password
Click on the appropriate waiver choice, either, "I live with family", defined as: (parents, grandparents, married brother, sister, aunt or uncle) or "General Waiver" (for all other circumstances)
Completely fill out the online application (All boxes must be filled in)
Save the application
View the printable copy
Print a copy of the waiver application
Sign the waiver application ("I Live with Family" waiver must also be signed by relative)
Fill out the Residential Living Standard Agreement and get the signatures of all occupants, including yourself ("General Waiver" only, prints out automatically with the waiver)
Bring, FAX (801) 422-0182, or mail these signed documents to the Off-Campus Housing Office, C-141 ASB Provo, Utah 84602

You will receive confirmation e-mails when:

Your online application has been successfully submitted
We have processed your application and a decision has been rendered. The waiver process is not complete until you have received this e-mail.

For Future Semesters and Terms:

Waivers for future semesters or terms are not available until following the last day of class of the previous semester or term. Waivers are due by the add/drop deadline of the semester or term the waiver is needed. There is no gaurantee a waiver will be approved. It is the student's responsibility to determine in advance if their circumstances will qualify for a waiver from university policy to live in BYU Contracted Housing. Students may Inquire about a general waiver in advance through the Off-Campus Housing Office. The actual waiver will still need to be submitted, using the process above, once waivers are available for that semester or term.
